Look on the back of any number of old blues albums and you will see the name Jimmy Stewart, aka ‘Buzzard’. He was a trumpet player and arranger extraordinaire. Billy Cox & Buddy Miles: The Band Of Gypsys Return is a special collection of recent studio recordings and live performances that celebrate Jimi Hendrix and the legacy of his Band Of Gypsys--bassist Billy Cox and drummer Buddy Miles. Joining Cox and Miles are guitarists Andy Aledort, Kenny Olson, Eric Gales, and Sheldon Reynolds. Band Of Gypsys classics such as "Power Of Soul," "Machine Gun," and "Who Knows" are reveisited along with Hendrix favorites such as "Stone Free" and "Manic Depression".

This release also features a bonus DVD that includes footage of the group recording "Power Of Soul" at Clinton Recording Studios in New York, interviews with Billy and Buddy, and performance footage of Billy, Buddy, Sheldon Reynolds, and Eric Gales performing "Foxey Lady" at San Diego Street Scene.

A rough-cut video of the Clinton Studios sessions for "Power Of Soul" was produced in 2002 to commemorate the launch of Line 6's new GuitarPort. Click here to view a sampling of this program.
