The Isle Of Wight Festival ranks as one of Jimi's best known and least understood performances of his career. It has often been incorrectly described as Jimi's final concert. The Isle Of Wight represented Jimi's first UK performance since his two memorable February 1969 concerts at London's Royal Albert Hall.

Before a crowd estimated at 600,000 people, Jimi continued to blend new material such as "Dolly Dagger" and "In From The Storm" alongside favorites such as "Purple Haze", "Hey Joe" and "All Along The Watchtower".
