(SEATTLE, WA ) - Jimi Hendrix's hometown of Seattle, Washington will once again play host the National Guitar Workshop this Summer as this highly touted organization returns to Seattle for a week of special instructional events for Guitarists of all ages.
Since 1984, the National Guitar Workshop has been teaching guitarists of all ages the ins-and-outs of playing the guitar - and has graduated more than 14,000 students in the process. This year, Seattle Pacific University (3307 Third Avenue West) will host the event which will include a special seminar dedicated to Jimi Hendrix.
The Are You Experienced? seminar will be lead by New Jersey based guitarist & instructor Tim Quick who counts Jimi Hendrix as one of his biggest influencers, has extensive training in jazz and classical guitar and has played to crowds in excess of 20,000 people when opening for rock bands such as Bon Jovi and Staind.
This course covers all aspects of Hendrix's career, from technique to songwriting, gear to performances and more. As an added bonus to an already fantastic course, students will get to spend an afternoon at the Experience Music Project. Students will also be treated to a rare visit by Janie Hendrix and gain insight into the man behind the guitar genius. Taught in his hometown, this is the perfect environment to get the ultimate Hendrix experience. Performer and educator Tim Quick is a veteran NGW Faculty member. He endorses DiMarzio Pickups and Levy's Leather.

ABOUT THE NATIONAL GUITAR WORKSHOP
Teaching music is our passion. Since 1984, the National Guitar Workshop has proudly educated musicians of all ages. NGW's outstanding faculty, combined with its highly developed curriculum, makes every week at the Workshop a unique and exceptional learning experience.
A typical day includes more than five hours of classroom time, plus ensembles, lectures, and concerts. The Workshop keeps class size to a minimum; this results in small Major classes and lots of individual attention for each student.
Students have opportunities to perform in front of a live audience, jam with other musicians, and study with world-famous artists. The NGW provides a positive, supportive and non-competitive learning environment through teamwork and hands-on teaching. See what some students have to say about us.
The Workshop serves the hobbyist, student and professional by offering a wide variety of courses for the guitarist and those playing instruments commonly accompanying the guitar. The entire program is conducted in a very relaxed and enjoyable setting.
Attendees range in age from young teenagers to senior citizens. Classes are conducted by professional musicians and contain six to eight students. Each day offers five hours of instruction and evening ensembles. A master artist conducts a special concert during the week. This curriculum and the professional staff are the reasons behind the program's success.
According to NGW founder, David Smolover, "Our purpose was to create a school that embodied the philosophy we share as artists and as a family: that true and lasting art and learning are achieved through dedication, honesty and a free and open expression of ideas. We believe the Workshop has grown and flourished because of our commitment to these ideas." These "ideas" have produced more than 14,000 alumni.
